Work With Foster Youth or Adoptees?: Request a Small Library of Books for Your Organization
Since my adoption-themed anthology Welcome Home was published two years ago, I've managed to help quite a few organizations build little libraries to support the teens they work with. It’s been the biggest joy of seeing this book out there, and I’m happy to be able to do it again as this year comes to a close.
If you’re not familiar, Welcome Home was published with Flux in 2016, and the plan was always to use whatever royalties came in to do some good for the kids this book was meant to serve. So every six months, the royalties go towards putting little libraries together. Like this one today.
So! If you’re an organization that works with foster youth or adoptees, whether you run a youth center or an outreach program, and are interested in getting a small library for your center, give a shout.
This season’s giveaway includes books by Stacey Lee, Katie Cotugno, Kerry Kletter, Kayla Olson, Stephanie Kuehn, Corey Ann Haydu, Jeff Zentner, Brendan Reichs, Natalie C. Anderson, Charlotte Huang, Kristin Cashore, Jessica Taylor, Richard Peck, Stephanie Oakes, Somaiya Daud, Gina Ciocca, Siobhan Vivian, and some surprises that I’ll throw in there when it comes time to mail them.
There are also some books by Lauren Morrill, Sangu Mandanna, and Caela Carter, who contributed stories to this collection.
How do you apply to get one of these? Just shoot me an email, with details about you, your organization, and the kids you work with. Simple as that. If you’re worried that your organization doesn’t have a proper bookshelf for a little library for your teens, let me know. I’ll send you one of those too.
I’ll choose TWO organizations at the end of December to get these books.

And that’s it. This is open to US requests only, as it would be impossibly expensive to ship crates of books like this overseas, and I need to make the funds stretch as far as possible.
