So my awesome artist roommate recently purchased three old school library card catalogs off eBay, one of which is currently sitting in our living room. He’s going to use them as storage in the apartment, and I have to say, it is probably one of the coolest looking dressers I’ve ever seen. Ikea needs to hire him to design rooms.
Seriously, who thinks of stuff like this? The only clever artistic thing I could think of was to put the kitty inside one of the drawers and then take a cute picture.
Oh well.
I’ve decided I’m officially going to stop hating on cats. I’ve made fun of cats ladies and people with gigantic cats my entire life, and well, now I’m starting to like them. I mean look at that face.
That’s Aurora’s “come on Eric, are you seriously playing the King Kong video game for XBox 360 on a Saturday night? What’s wrong with you.”
My half sleeve tattoo is in the works of being designed. Can’t wait. I kept seeing this guy’s sweet ink every other day here in Philly, and opted for one. It’ll become a full sleeve once my MFA is finished. The entire tattoo is literature themed, and will feature characters from works of classic lit that are important to me.
First class of the semester starts tomorrow. Here’s to four months of working full time while handling full time (three classes) graduate school. Woo!
Burkey [n] bur-kEE 1. a bunny that has grown so fat that it bears resemblance to a butterball turkey.
Seriously, this is my life.
And it’s pretty good.
Summer classes are finished. I still can’t believe I read every single one of Jane Austen’s novels in six weeks. My second class, The American Short Story, wasn’t as reading intensive, but there were a hella lot of papers. I’m thrilled to just have a whole month off to relax, do some writing, and hang out with friends. I really need the time off.
I’ll be spending some of that time off in Montreal, working on a lyric book for a musical. I’m really excited about this project, and even if nothing comes of it, it’ll still be a wonderful writing experience. I’m working with an amazing composer who also happens to be one of my best friends. The story is based off a classical piece of literature, but as to what piece it is, that’s a secret.
I also plan on saving my money all month so I can buy one of these from a jewelry shop in Society Hill that apparently specializes in rapper jewelry.
My roommates have two wonderful kittens who, on occasion, do some pretty silly things. From stealing my sandwich rolls (and consequently shredding them all over my roomies’ bedroom) to getting themselves stuck inside the couch cushions, these two, Aurora and Diesel, are adorable little terrors…
… and Diesel happens to be in love with Nintendo Wii.
I never thought I’d be one of those people uploading videos of their pets, but I guess I’m still technically in the clear, considering the kittens are my roommates’, not mine. I found a loophole. Besides, it’s funny.
Oh, does anyone know if Applecare covers BRD, also known as Bunny Related Damages?
Well they friggin’ should.
Not only did Ash eat through my Powerbook’s AC adapter and external hard drive’s adapter, but he also chewed through my lamp’s powercord, thus rendering it useless.
And he ate my Snyder’s pretzels!
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find Snyder’s Buffalo Wing flavored pretzels here in Philadelphia? I’ve YET to spot them. Anywhere. I bought those in Albany and brought them all the way home. I only have one bag left now!
