Search Awards: I Became A Writer But That’s Not Important
When I moved to Philadelphia, one of the first blogs I started to read actively was the blog of local photographer Steve Weinik. Philly folks might know him from his work with the Mural Arts Program and the award winning film Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles.
Me? I got to know him through his hilarious blog posts. Along with his photography misadventures, he used to write up these ‘search awards’ lists, detailing the weirdest ways people found his site.
So, in that tradition, here are my search awards for 2012. The ten weirdest ways people have stumbled upon my site in 2012.
- Pimp Suits: 646
- Release the Kraken: 108
- Kishwer Vikaas: 47 (Um, @Phillygrrl?)
- DJ Hulk Hogan: 18
- You stood up to me that was the test: 15
- My chinchilla fell in the toilet: 12
- Pizza and red wine: 6
- Do chinchillas get cold?: 3
- I became a writer but that’s not important: 3
- Of all the prostitutes you’re the smartest: 3
A majority of people made it to my site looking for perfectly normal things though. Thousands of people came here looking for Master Chief armor, an analysis of Joyas Voladoras by Brian Doyle, Geekadelphia, Rocketeer costume supplies, and sometimes for me. Sometimes.
Though I suppose for anyone else, someone searching for Master Chief and Rocketeer armor isn’t exactly normal. But, this is my life. This is what I do.
