Adopted A New Friend

He’s exactly eight weeks old. Right now he just about fits in my hand, but soon he’ll get just a little bit bigger. So far he’s spent the greater part of an hour taking leaps from the second story platform of his cage in an attempt to land in the hammock across the way. He makes it a handful of times, never giving up.

Just look at those ears! Like my buddy Jackie says, he’s like a real life Pikachu.
Life just got a whole lot cuter.
Christ on a cracker. He’s adorable.

He’s *sooooooo* cute. What are you going to name him?
I’ve been looking for one of those myself, but the fact that my friend wants to skin him and make a fashion statement out of his fur frightens me just a little bit.

I used to have gerbils when I was a kid. Man, those things were noisy.

You know, I wasn’t sure what he was at first. Because I didn’t see your tag right away, and I have not seen a chinchilla since those nature documentaries in, I dunno, elementary school. They bathe in dust! They are real soft! And that is all I know about chinchillas.
What are you naming him?
